Neurological Disease Models

Neurological Disease Models

In vivo neurological models are critical tools for studying the complex pathophysiology of the central and peripheral nervous systems under physiological and disease conditions. These models simulate human neurological disorders in animals, allowing researchers to investigate disease mechanisms, progression, and therapeutic responses in a biologically relevant environment.

Common Neurological Disease Mouse Strains

FAD4T

Strain Type: Transgenic
Strain Number: T053302

Disease : Alzheimer’s Disease

Description :
1.Aβ plaque deposition was detected at 2 months of age, and astrocyte hyperplasia was observed in the cortex and hippocampus.

2.Microglia hyperplasia occurred at 4 months of age.

3.Spatial cognitive impairment and spatial learning impairment occurred at 8-9 months of age.

Application:
1. Screening and safety evaluation of drugs for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

2.Research of Alzheimer’s disease.

3.Research in aging mechanism.

B6-hSNCA A53T

Strain Type: Transgenic
Strain Number: T054329

Disease : Parkinson’s Disease

Description :
1.The B6-hSNCA A53T model was independently developed, aiming to express human SNCA with the point mutation of A53T.

2.Inclusion body aggregation and gastrocnemius atrophy were detected at about 14 weeks of age, with motor deficits.

Application:
1.Study on the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s Disease and pharmacodynamic evaluation of the disease.

Study on pathogenesis of dementia with Lewy bodies 3. Study on synaptic signal transduction and transport

Disease : Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

Description :
1.The A315T mutation of TDP43 protein was selected to construct the B6-hTDP43 A315T mouse model.

2.Aggregation of TDP43 inclusions were detected in in cortex and lumbar spinal cord at 14 weeks of age, with motor deficits.

Application:
1.Study on the pathogenesis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis(ALS) and pharmacodynamic evaluation of the disease.

2.Study on the pathogenesis of frontotemporal dementia.

B10-Dmd-KO

Strain Type: Cas9-KO
Strain Number: T003035

Disease : Muscular Dystrophy

Description :
1.Elevated serum creatine kinase levels were detected after 9 to 10 weeks of age, indicating muscle damage in B10-Dmd-KO mice.

2.Muscle fiber degeneration, necrosis, proliferation of fibrous tissue and infiltration of inflammatory cells were observed in mice at 9 to 10 weeks of age.
